To reach a world of under two degrees of warming, policymakers all over the world need successful examples of low-carbon growth to learn from and be inspired by. Sharing successes and positive results each step of the way can create an environment of learning and development. Without these examples however, efforts to progress will continue to struggle against opposition pointing to decades of fossil fuel-driven growth as the only real option.

This is why The Climate Group has launched its brand new interactive Under2 Policy Action Map, illustrating the brilliant work of so many of the states and regions that make up the Under2 Coalition.

The Under2 Policy Action Map features case studies from Under2 signatories from around the world, covering a range of topics from renewable energy and resilience to clean transportation and land use. It showcases concrete and innovative policies, programs and projects implemented by leading states and regions to reach their climate targets.

By exploring the map, you can navigate around the globe through the lens of climate action. You can see how California and Vermont are engaging with local businesses to encourage investment in electric vehicles. You can explore the benefits of forest and farmland regeneration for Querétaro’s rural communities in Mexico. Among other exciting case studies, you can also discover the importance of assessing physical vulnerability for South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal coastal resilience.

The Under2 Policy Action Map is an interactive tool to inspire states and regions to learn from the great work being done across the globe to act on climate change. Governments that are interested in a specific policy can contact their peers to find out more, via the contact box on each case study.

The map will grow and develop over time as we continue to gather more success stories.

If you are a sub-national government implementing an innovative low carbon policy – get in touch! We want to hear from you and share your story.
